Functionality meets design
A kitchen needs good lighting – bright enough for chopping and cooking, but not so glaring that it looks like a commercial kitchen. Our pendant lights with natural shades provide warm, diffused light and look like design objects. As a guide for brightness, aim for around 150 to 200 lumens per square meter.
Color rendering is also important: with CRI 90+and warm white light (2700–3000 K), tomatoes look red and lettuce looks green – cool white light makes food appear pale. Our treated wood can be easily wiped clean of grease and steam.
Pendant lights above islands & dining tables
Our pendant lights are particularly popular above worktops or islands. The Discus(Ø 35 or 55 cm) distributes light evenly downwards – for an island of 120–160 cm, the 35 cm version is suitable; for 180–200 cm, the 55 cm version or two side by side.
The Nuxwith its clear cylindrical shape brings structure over elongated islands, while the Konuswith three shades provides dynamism over large tables. The correct height above the work surface is about 70 to 80 cm.
Cleverly zone open-plan kitchens

Supplement this with a ceiling lightfor general brightness in the corners that the pendant light doesn't reach. This creates lighting that is functional and cozy at the same time.
