A wooden pendant lighthangs over the dining table, becoming the centerpiece. Everyone sits in its light, everyone looks up at it. Therefore, it shouldn't just be a purely functional light, but an eye-catcher that brings the room and guests together and sets the scene for the meal. Our hanging lampsare meticulously handcrafted in the Chiemgau region – each a unique piece with its own story.
Wooden Pendant Lights – Models at a Glance
The right model for every table. The Konusis timelessly elegant, conical, and directs light specifically downwards – individually or as a set of 3 over long tables. The Discus pendant light(Ø 35 or 55 cm) is an open bowl with an integrated diffuser for even, glare-free light.
The Nuxfocuses on radical simplicity in a cylinder (Ø 30 cm) and appears almost floating. In addition, there are the smaller, romantic models Bella, Annaand Connyfor intimate tables, and the vertical light column Arundofor high rooms.
Each model is available in various natural materials – from light oak to dark walnut, plus alpine hay, cornflowers, or rose petals. This way, you decide whether the light will be warm-bright or dramatically intimate.
The Right Hanging Height
Rule of thumb for the dining table: The light hangs 60 to 70 cmabove the table top, measured to the bottom edge. This keeps the view across the table clear and the light falls beautifully on food and faces without dazzling. At 60 cm, the light is more direct and focused, at 70 cm it is a little softer.
An height-adjustable cable is standard with us – you can set the exact height yourself. Above kitchen islands, the light can hang a little higher, with a distance of 70 to 80 cm, so that you can work comfortably underneath it.
Which Size for Which Table?
For table lengths up to approx. 140 cm, a 35-cm Discusor a single compact model is sufficient. From around 150 cm, take the 55 cm, and for very large tables, two lights next to each other or the flexible Konus with three individually adjustable shades.
As a rough rule, the light should cover about two-thirds of the table width – then it looks proportional, neither lost nor overwhelming. For long, narrow tables, several small pendants are often more beautiful than one large one.
Materials that Inspire
The special thing is the interplay of light and material. With wood veneer, the warm light shines through the fine fibers, and the grain of Swiss pine, oak, or walnut becomes visible. A hanging lamp made of alpine meadow hayscatters it softly and subtly smells of mountain meadows. Lodenin green, gray, or bordeaux adds color to the mix.
