A wooden floor lampis more than just a light source. It transforms a room – creating coziness next to the couch, a reading nook in an armchair, or a warm accent in the bedroom. And there's a world of difference between an off-the-shelf lamp from a furniture store and a handcrafted designer wooden floor lampfrom our workshop. Each of our lamps is handmade in the Chiemgau region. No two pieces are identical. The grain you see today is unique in the world.
Wooden Floor Lamps – Materials & Variations
We work with real wood: oak, Swiss pinewith its calming scent, dark walnut, and wild-grained olive ash. Each type of wood glows differently. Lighter woods let a lot of light through and appear friendly, while darker ones filter it and create intimacy. When the warm light shines through the wafer-thin veneer, the grain comes alive – annual rings appear as fine lines, small knots become luminous points.
In addition, we have our natural shades. Alpine meadow hayfrom Lake Chiemsee and South Tyrol subtly smells of dry mountain meadows and diffuses the light softly and vibrantly. Pressed leaves, blue cornflowers, or delicate rose petalscreate a delicate play of light on the ceiling in the evening. No sterile LED, but genuine atmosphere.
If you like color, choose lodenin muted tones – warm green, gray, anthracite, or red. If you prefer a minimalist look, stick with the veneer. Either way, every wooden floor lampis unique, where nature dictates the design and evolves over the years. Our material pages provide a deeper insight into each type of wood.
Which Floor Lamp Suits Which Room?
That depends on the room and its use. For the living room, a living room floor lampthat shines gently upwards and creates indirect, cozy light is ideal – perfect next to a sofa or armchair. In the bedroom, a dimmable version is perfect: bright enough for reading, subdued for unwinding in the evening.
In the home office, glare-free, flicker-free brightness without harsh reflections is key – warm wood is more soothing to the eye than cold plastic lamps. And in the entrance area or hallway, an imposing light column makes an immediate impression. Thanks to their height of around 150 to 190 cm, floor lamps also effectively fill empty corners and wall spaces without being obtrusive.
A practical tip: Never use a floor lamp as the sole light source. Only in combination with a ceiling lightand one or two wall lightsdoes a harmonious lighting concept emerge that you can switch on and off depending on your mood.
Our Floor Lamp Series at a Glance
The slender Gracia(160 cm) is a timeless classic – optionally with a stainless steel rod or as a cantilevered light column, available in oak, walnut, Swiss pine, or olive ash. The imposing Arbor(190 cm) is our tallest lamp and makes a statement in high rooms.
The Lucerna(160 cm) grows out of the ground like a tree, without a connecting rod between the shade and base – organic and pure. The Columna(156 cm) is the most minimalist form: a slender column that takes up little space and has maximum vertical impact.
And the Lignocombines a natural shade with solid oak legs in a Scandinavian tripod design – Nordic clarity meets alpine materials. For smaller accents next to the sofa, the Arboreustable lamp also fits well.
The Right Light: Lumens, Kelvin & Dimming
For a floor lamp in the living area, we recommend warm white light with 2700 Kelvin– this corresponds to a classic incandescent bulb and creates a cozy atmosphere. For indirect mood lighting, around 800 lumens are sufficient; if the lamp is also to be suitable for reading, 1000 to 1500 lumens may be desired.
All our floor lamps have E27 socketsor LED tubes and can be combined with dimmable LEDs – allowing you to freely control brightness and mood. You can see which bulb suits which lamp in our LED selection; warm filament LEDs look particularly beautiful behind wood and hay.
Quality from Bavarian Handcraft
Every wooden floor lampfrom LeuchtNatur is handmade in the Chiemgau region – by people who have been working with wood for decades. Veneer is carefully applied, loden is sewn by hand, every seam is perfect. You'll notice it as soon as you unpack it: the weight, the feel, the craftsmanship. And you'll notice it after ten years, when the lamp is still lit every evening, while others have long since been replaced.
That's why we offer a 5-year warrantyand deliver free of charge. We rely on natural, durable materials instead of plastic – that's sustainable living instead of disposable goods. Browse our collection at your leisure; we'll be happy to help with any questions about the right size or type of wood.
